In addition to all the features of "Handy Bible," "Handy Bible Pro" also offers a complete bible study app. This app includes not only multiple bible translations, but also commentaries, a Strong Number concordance and definition, dictionaries, maps, devotions, and books. Users can even use the iOS built-in speech synthesizer to have all bible translations read aloud (optional purchase available), with support for 37 languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, and Greek.
Furthermore, "Handy Bible Pro" is a universal app that supports both iPhone and iPad devices. It can be used in both portrait and landscape modes, and it does not require an internet connection to function.
One noteworthy feature of this app is its Apple Watch support. Additionally, unlike other bible apps on the market that only allow users to read one type of content at a time (such as the bible, commentary, or dictionary), "Handy Bible" has a unique feature: a floating, movable, and half-transparent window that allows users to simultaneously view bible text along with commentary, dictionary entries, personal notes, and even perform searches. "Handy Bible Pro" also sets itself apart by allowing users to have up to 4 bible windows open at once (compared to other apps which typically only allow 2). Each bible window can be adjusted in size and assigned its own bible translation text. Additionally, one of these windows can be assigned as a "Bible Parallel" window. This feature eliminates the need for constantly switching between translations and allows for more efficient study. Another standout feature of this app is its powerful note editing capabilities. It is the only app to allow "rich text editing" with options such as bold, italic, underline, strike through, font color/highlight/size, and ordered or unordered lists. Users can also add links to any bible study content within the app, as well as insert "Tag" shortcuts to link specific content to their notes. "Handy Bible Pro" also includes a powerful and rich SQL database search feature. It allows users to search for any text within seconds within the Bible or their own personal notes. The search function can filter results by Old Testament or New Testament books and supports Boolean operators like "AND" or "OR." Users can also use quotation marks to search for specific phrases and even utilize Regular Expressions for more complex searches.
Unlike other apps that only show search results page by page, "Handy Bible Pro" presents search results in an ordered manner with a book index for easy access. Additionally, it displays the frequency of the searched string within each book.
Commentaries are also available in "Handy Bible Pro," including MHCC, JFB, Clarke, Barnes, Gill, and TSK free domain commentaries. Users can easily switch between available commentaries using the next/previous buttons. Just like the note window, the commentary window is floating, half-transparent, and movable for convenient reference while reading bible text.
This app also allows users to compare multiple bible translations within one single window. The dictionary feature includes AmTrac, Easton, Fausset, ISBE, Morrish, Nave, SC, Smiths, and TCR dictionaries. It supports searching for exact or partial keyword matches. Additionally, "Handy Bible Pro" includes a Strong Number concordance with Hebrew/Greek definitions and references, allowing users to search and look up each Strong Number as needed.
For those interested in specific bible versions, "Handy Bible Pro" includes the KJV with Strong Number text, and users can access a floating window to view the definition for each Strong Number. The app also offers bible maps and artwork for enhanced visual learning.
A reading plan feature is also available, allowing users to create their own personal daily bible reading plan based on their preferred bible books and duration. The app even includes four examples of bible reading plans to provide inspiration.
All the content mentioned above, including notes, can be exported via copy or email.
